Have you ever found yourself at a Show, stopping at a particular exhibit for no immediately apparent reason? It may be a fish that hasn't even got in the Cards but, even so, it caught your eye.

It could be that the fish was spectacular, unfamiliar, downright ugly or just worth stopping to look at.

We spotted the following recently. See if you find them of interest too.

These two tiny fish were well worth getting close to.
The Oryzias minutilius (left) had great red markings on the fins whilst the
internal organs of the Danionella translucida (right) were clearly visible.
Both fish were around the 10mm length - who'd be a Judge?

Rift Valley Cichlids are famous for their colours and this species (left)
is no exception. You may not be familiar with this Tilapia snyderae (right).

Long-finned variants of old favourites are often sneered at but this Rosy Barb (left) has a certain charm. For those who think that catfish (right) are generally a drab-coloured bunch then here's a pleasant surprise. (I'd be grateful for the correct name).

Single species of Betta albimarginata (left) are not seen on the Show bench too often, but this one was part of a breeder's team! Get a Bitterling (right) under the right lighting conditions (have a bit of luck with the photo too!) and it's up there with the most colourful of 'trops.'
